Compassionate Care

Compassionate Care

South Africa has the largest inequality between rich and poor of any country in the world. Many of the children with whom Metro Kids works live with the constant worry of where their next meal will come from.

Metro Kids always seeks to help people where we can, so we give regular food parcels to needy families.

At Christmas time, we request donations from our supporters to assist us in purchasing special food parcels that will feed a family of five for two weeks. Local schools, churches and businesses, as well as donations from international supporters, have helped thousands of families receive food parcels over the last few years.

Other ways that Metro Kids helps families are:

School backpacks and school supplies

School uniforms

Individual home needs (help with roof repairs, home makeovers etc.

Special purchases (for example, a replacement bed for a family who lost everything in a house fire)
